AdAstra is developing a novel method for sustainable production of astaxanthin using microalgae. Astaxanthin is a valuable carotenoid that is used in growing markets for nutraceuticals and aquafeeds. Our proprietary production technology is based on cell immobilization and offers several advantages over established production methods. Originally invented in Cologne, we are now using our technology in Iceland and Andalusia to set up an industrial production plant.
