BioCampus Cologne once again opened its doors for the 9th Technology Night. About 300 visitors On June 21, they gained insights into the fascinating world of science and research and experienced a diverse, inspiring and exciting program.

Guided tour of drug production:

Exclusively granted by A. Nattermann & Cie. Insights into the production process of pharmaceuticals and visitors could not escape from the traffic jam. The interest was overwhelming. Shortly after the start of ticket sales, everything was completely booked out.

Wetlab - Tour - OP live:

Cadlab/Rimasys Group also ran out of free places within a few days. WDR was on site with a live broadcast at local time. Presenter Manuela Klein completed her first sewing tests on a practice pad, which is very close to human skin. Visitors and TV viewers were able to watch surgeons at work and learned, for example, how fractures are produced on human preparations.

Expo Innovation up close:

Here, visitors immersed themselves in the world of science and research! BioCampus Campus Cologne & RTZ companies presented innovative solutions and products from biotechnology, life sciences, medical technology, healthcare and more. They gave interested guests insights into their work on topics such as genetic engineering, cancer research, artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Many thanks to the participants of the Expo: BluCon Biotech, Lonza, PAIA Biotech, Detechgene, Phytowelt Green Technologies, A. Nattermann & Cie. and Mittelstand Digital Rheinland.

Treasure hunt:

The exciting quiz for our visitors was very well received by young and old! The questions were not easy to solve. But that was intentional. Exhibitors at the Expo offered assistance in this regard. This resulted in wonderful conversations and interactions with visitors. In order to answer the last question and then complete the final set of solutions, it took a visit to the roof garden of the high-rise building. It was the ginkgo that was asked for. The 3 winners of the quiz will be drawn asap! It remains exciting.

event level on the 11th floor :

Here on the highest conference level with a breathtaking view of Cologne's skyline from the roof garden — a frosty ice cream bar with delicious ice cream flavors and a bar with cool drinks awaited visitors, Bore the imaginative names of our participating community.

Highlight 2024:

A particular highlight was the panel discussion on artificial intelligence: Our experts discussed the effects of AI on the future of technology and society and explained how AI is already being used in their companies. The audience was actively involved in this discussion, asked interested questions and gave feedback. The young visitors in particular were very interested and asked many questions about this exciting and broad topic.

Thanks to our speakers: Markus Goldbach from Mentafy, Dr. Reza Esmaillie from Detechgene and Alessandro Blank from the Federal AI Association. Special thanks to the great Dr. Alexander Opitz as an expert presenter from AI Village Hürth.

Together, we brave rain and wind — what climate challenges in June. It was a unique event — exciting, challenging, but very rewarding. It makes you want more.

We would like to thank all participants and supporters. Without them, the Night of Technology would not have been so successful.
